UCSF Campus

Mission Bay is home to renowned biomedical research facilities as part of this University of California, San Francisco campus. In 2015, the research campus welcomed a state-of-the-art medical center.

AT&T Park

Home of the San Francisco Giants, AT&T Park is a major entertainment venue in Mission Bay. In addition to baseball games, the stadium hosts numerous annual events and concerts, including Opera at the Ballpark.

Chase Center

The Golden State Warriors' new home, the 18,000-seat Chase Center, broke ground in Mission Bay in January 2017. When completed, the new arena will feature a waterfront park, bike valet spaces, and over 100,000 square feet of retail space.

The Mission Bay Neighborhood Guide

Mission Bay is a community that has grown virtually overnight. New condominiums and apartments are being constructed, the UCSF Mission Bay campus has welcomed hundreds of new jobs, and the new arena is bringing more high-end entertainment to the neighborhood. In addition to brand new amenities, Mission Bay boasts a coveted location along the San Francisco Bay. The neighborhood even has its own unique waterfront, Mission Creek, which features a community of houseboats.

Mission Bay is bounded by the waterfront to the east, Dogpatch and Potrero Hill to the south, and South of Market to the north and west. It is close to I-280, I-80, and ferry terminals.

Transportation in Mission Bay

Mission Bay residents have easy access to public transit, including the ferry, light rail, and MUNI buses. The following routes serve Mission Bay:

  • Ferry: Seasonal service to AT&T Park from Alameda Main Street, Oakland Jack London Square, and Vallejo
  • Light Rail: Service via E-Embarcadero, K-Ingleside/T-Third Street, and N-Judah routes
  • MUNI Bus: Service via 55-16th Street, 10-Townsend, and 47-Van Ness routes
